Dean, Business, Hospitality & Environment

Description Emploi

A proven academic administrator with a commitment to student success and a reputation for entrepreneurial thinking and action, you see this role as an opportunity to lead divisional strategy and operations, while supporting Niagara College’s mission of “providing outstanding applied education and training for a changing world” and vision of “Enriching lives and fulfilling dreams”.
Located in the beautiful Niagara Peninsula, and widely regarded as one of Canada’s most innovative and enterprising post-secondary institutions, Niagara College has a brand and reputation built on unparalleled student experiences, leading innovation and applied research, and is driven by an entrepreneurial approach to programs, services and operations.
Niagara College is seeking a dynamic, engaged and collaborative leader who, reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Academic, will provide inspiring academic and administrative leadership to the Division, while acting as a progressive catalyst for effective collaborations with other academic and service areas across the College.
As the new Dean of Business, Hospitality & Environment, you will ensure that all courses and programs offered within the Division meet or exceed established internal and external standards for accreditation, relevance and quality. Your focus, as you lead divisional teaching, learning and service processes, will be on ensuring that these processes continue to support student success through continued dynamic growth and portfolio diversification that appeals to a variety of learners – in a continually changing world – the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
In this senior role, you will contribute to the overall academic and fiscal well-being of the College, both as an integral part of the College’s leadership team and as an enterprising member of the operations group. You will engage actively in planning and special initiatives; contribute to the development of College policies and operating procedures; represent the College administration on committees dealing with master plan, budget and academic planning; and other matters, while working collaboratively to ensure the development of new programs and services consistent with the College’s strategic and academic plans. In so doing, you will work to ensure that strategic and operational planning takes into account the impacts of governmental direction setting.
This is an exciting mandate for an excellent administrator with a proven track record as an innovator and entrepreneur, experience in teaching at the post-secondary level, and a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success. You hold a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, and have a minimum of nine years’ experience, which should include a minimum of five years progressive management/leadership experience in business or the public sector and/or the post-secondary academic sector.
Your proven ability to build productive relationships with partners from business, industry, government and academia – in Canada and internationally – will be evident as you develop and maintain networks with these stakeholders to promote College programs as well as develop support programs for graduates. You are an outstanding leader, ready to work collaboratively with faculty and other members of the College community, and ideally combine previous administrative success within the Ontario college system with experience managing within a unionized environment.  You embody Niagara College’s DNA – “Trailblazing, Welcoming, Passionate”.
