Assistant Professor, Psychology (tenure-stream appointment)

Job Description

The School of Behavioural and Social Sciences at Brescia University College invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment in any area of Psychology at the Assistant Professor level beginning July 1, 2022. We are seeking candidates with a strong commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts environment and a dedication to collaborating with undergraduates in research. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated ability to teach research methods and statistics at the undergraduate level.

Faculty members at Brescia are expected to be active researchers and to participate in departmental and university committees and activities. Each academic year, the successful candidate will teach 3 courses in one term and 2 in the other and will supervise honours thesis students in psychology. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of people, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity at Brescia are encouraged to identify their experiences and potential contributions in their cover letter.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related field and university-level teaching experience. The preferred candidate will also demonstrate a defined research agenda including a record of publications and an independent program of research that can involve undergraduates.
