Aligned with the University’sstrategic plan for educational excellence, the Executive Director will work withacademic partners within and beyond UBC as well as stakeholder organizationsacross the province, throughout Canada and internationally to solidify, strengthenand strategically expand Extended Learning and explore education opportunitiesthat respond to the needs of the communities which they serve.Reporting directly to the Associate Provost, Teaching and Learning, the ExecutiveDirector is responsible for setting the strategic direction and leading the executionof a long-term strategy for UBC Extended Learning, and for making significantcontributions to the advancement of innovative career and personal educationand lifelong learning at UBC. The Executive Director will produce significantsustainable positive impacts in local, regional, national and internationalcommunities through innovative approaches to continuing education at UBC.The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and inspirational leader with a passionfor lifelong learning. They will be able to demonstrate how they have built teamsand partnerships to creative compelling learning experiences aligned to marketand social trends that deliver on key performance goals.The incumbent will have highly-developed emotional intelligence, exhibitsophisticated social awareness and skillful relationship management skills inorder to create and maintain effective partnerships.
